# Weave Player > Play the films, shows, and music you already own, on every screen in the house. One purchase, no subscription. Weave Player is one face of the Weave family from Epiphani Studios. Weave Player plays the films and shows you own, Weave FM plays your own music, and Weave Radio holds the streaming services and stations you already listen to. All three are the same application and are covered by a single one-time purchase, sold as Weave Player. ## Price Weave Player: $34.99, one-time, in United States dollars, sold by Epiphani Studios LLC through Polar as merchant of record. One purchase covers one household and every Apple device it owns (Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV), and everyone who lives there. There is no subscription and no renewal. ## Runs on Macs with macOS 15 or later, iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later, and Apple TV with tvOS 17 or later. One app on each device: the Mac indexes and serves the library; the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV apps read it. Verify the current Mac version and its minimum macOS: https://updates.belstone.com/weave-player/appcast.json ## Formats Containers: MKV, AVI, MP4, TS, and VOB. Video: H.264, HEVC, VC-1, and AV1. Audio: DTS, TrueHD, FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, AAC, and Opus. Subtitles: tracks inside the file and subtitle files beside it. Engine: libmpv on FFmpeg, decoding in hardware through VideoToolbox on Apple silicon. ## How a film reaches a screen The Mac serves each file over HTTP with range requests, so any device seeks straight to any point. Devices on the same network find the Mac through Bonjour. An Epiphani account signs the Apple TV in with a short device code and keeps each person's place in a film across every device in the house. ## On the Mac Double-click a film and it opens in its own Weave Player window, first frame in about eight tenths of a second on a MacBook Pro, with the library left asleep. Weave is listed under Open With. ## What it does - Plays what you have: libmpv on FFmpeg, decoding in hardware through VideoToolbox. The original bytes stream straight to the device that is playing them, so the original file is what plays, at its full quality. - Double-click to play: Double-click a film and it opens in its own Weave Player window, first frame in about eight tenths of a second on a MacBook Pro, with the library left asleep. Weave is listed under Open With. - Libraries on more than one Mac: Each family member keeps their collection on their own machine, and Weave Player joins them into a single view, marks which library each title came from, and seeks across them. - Films and music in one app: One index covers video and audio: films, shows, albums, artists, covers, the play queue, and Now Playing. - Names things correctly: The metadata pass reads TMDB for film and television and MusicBrainz with AcoustID fingerprinting for music, behind a confidence gate, so a title gets its poster once the match clears it. - Your streaming services: Channels puts the services you already pay for into the same window as isolated tiles, so one app is the place you press play. - Dropbox as a shelf: A Dropbox folder joins the library as a member alongside your local drives. - Knows what is coming: A 14-day release strip sits under the shows you follow, with a calendar feed you can subscribe to. - Built for the family: Kid profiles filter by rating, and everyone keeps their own watch and listen state on a shared library. ## Where the library lives On the owner's own machines. The Mac application indexes the folders it is pointed at and serves them over the household's own network using Bonjour discovery, so playback comes from the copy the household already owns. ## The three sites - Weave Player: https://weaveplayer.com - Weave FM: https://weavefm.com - Weave Radio: https://weaveradio.com ## Publisher Epiphani Studios LLC.
